Jau (barley) Khurdoni ijnas mein aik aam si jins hai. Ye gandum ke kheton mein paye jate hain aur gandum se phele pak jate hain. Agar cha ye kasht kiye jate hain magar is ki khud ro qism bhi payi jati hai. Nabi Akram (S.A.W) ko jau bohat pasand the. Jau (barley) khane se qowat hasil hoti hai. Ye jismani kamzori ke elawa khansi aur halaq ki sozish ke leye mufeed hain. Mede ki sozish ko khatam karte hain, jism se ghilazaton ka ikhraj karte hain, pishab aawar hain aur piyas ko taskeen dete hain.

Nabi Akram (S.A.W) ne jau ke fawaid mein do (2) aham baatein irshad farmai hain.

1- Mariz ke dil se bojh ko utar deta hai.

2- Fikr aur gham se nijat deta hai.

Jau (barley) khane se jo khoon paida hota hai wo mutadil, sulah aur kam gharah hota hai. Pishab mein khoon aur pep ke marizon mein wajah e bimari koi bhi ho munasib ilaj ke sath jau ka pani agar shehad mein dal kar pilaya jaye to ye taqlif 15 roz mein khatam ho jati hai.
