Paan ka istemal humare mulk mein aam hai. Mughliya dor e hukumat mein pan ki surkhi ko mehaz husan ki araish samjha jata tha, lekin aaj kal ye khane ki aham cheizon mein shamil ho gaya hai. Hindustan ke taqriban har ghar mein mehmano ki ziyafat pan aur tambako se ki jati hai.aur pan ke baghair koi dawat mukammal nahi samjhi jati.

Paan (betel leaf) aam bol chal mein paan ka patta, chona, katha, chaliya, choti elichi ke majmoye ko kaha jata hai. Pasand ke lehaz se is mein tambako, sonf, long, malthi wagherah ka izafa kar liya jata hai. Pan ka patta taaban garam khushk hai. Gale ko saf aur mun ki badbo ko dor karta hai. Dimagh, meda, Jigar ko taqwiyat pohanchta hai aur qabz ko rafa karta hai. Qowat e bah ko barhata hai, khansi, nazla aur zokam ko mitata hai, kahane ko hazam karne mein madad deta hai albata nihar mun kahane se bhook ko kam karta hai. Warna sehat ke leye ye nihayat muzir hai. Dil, dimagh uar phephron ko nuqsan pohanchta hai. Tambako bhi muzir e sehat hai.

Paan etedal se kabhi kabhi kha liya jaye to achi cheiz hai. Paan ki kasrat danton aur meda ke keye nuqsan dah hai. Dil ke amraz peda hote hain, ekhtelaj e qalb ki shikayat lahaq hoti hai. Dimagh kamzor ho jata hai, asab zaif ho jate hain. Danton ke zariye se ghiza barik hoti hai aur ghodod se peda hone wali ratobatise naram banati hai aur hazam karne mein madad deti hai.pan, kayha aur chaliya in ghodod mein nichor ki kefiyat peda karte hain aur is ratobat ko khushk karte hain. Chona aur tambako mun mein luab kasrat se peda karte hain aur pan kahane wala kasrat se pek thokne lagta hai. Jis se ye mufeed ratobat zaya ho jati hai.
